By Melissa This was our first wedding of the 2015 season and our first wedding at the Frankenmuth Brewery. If you haven't been there, you should check it out. It has great food, great service, a really cool vibe, and is in the cute little town of Frankenmuth. It is just far enough to make a little vacation out of the wedding weekend. Tricia and Jeremy are the most laid back couple. They really could not have picked a better venue for their wedding. Their ceremony took place inside (it was April in Michigan) a room off of the reception area that has huge windows overlooking the river. That room later became the dance floor. It was easy for guests to walk right over to the adjoining room for the reception. I love the simplicity and elegance of this wedding with the all white flowers and touches of navy and gold throughout the details. Enjoy their wedding photos by Derek Cookson Photography..... Getting ready....... The first look....... The bridal party..... The details.... And they are married! Let the dancing begin! See the full gallery here.

By Melissa I do not tend to do a ton of events other than weddings. But when Meghan Spencer of Spencer Studios asked if I was interested in this high school graduation party, I was in. The party took place at Dylan's house in East Lansing and was a joint party with 3 of his very best friends. It was a lot of work, including some take down in the pouring rain. But it was a great success! The hot dog invitations were adorable and were carried over into the centerpieces! Each graduate had their own shrine..... The food was delicious! 4 of the graduates and their best friends! They were quite entertaining. It was a great party and I was so glad to be a part of it! Vendors

It was such a great day for so many reasons! For starters this was the first wedding I have coordinated at Matthei Botanical Gardens (where I married my sweet hubby 6 years ago!). Secondly, Katrina and Garret are such a fun, beautiful couple! Why the blind fold you ask??? Garret did not want to see his beautiful bride until she walked down the aisle. How sweet is that? Another reason that this was such a great day..... Look at these flowers! I worked my butt off on these flowers and I LOVED the way they turned out! Not a fan of cake? Katrina and Garret cut a butterhorn instead! And they were delicious! I LOVE this too! Half way in to the Father/Daughter dance the MC invited all fathers and daughters to the dance floor. Then they did the same for the Mother/Son dance. So sweet! The Newlywed Shoe game is always sure to get a good laugh out of your guests! This was new to me. It's a German tradition where the bride and groom are lifted in chairs wearing baby bonnets and everyone sings a song. It ends wit them chugging a beer! See the full gallery here.

But better late than never! Cris and Tim are a Detroit loving couple with a great story and they were a joy to work with! Cris and Tim said "I do" downtown at the beautiful Old St Mary's Roman Catholic church. I love this little touch. The couple's photo hanging on the pew that they sit at when they attend church each week. I would have to say that this venue is one of the top on my list of favorite venues. It may have been a challenge with the different levels and such, but it was such a neat venue that it was totally worth it. I loved the Detroit themed centerpieces and Vernors Floats for dessert. Cristina's father made the table number stands using wood from their cottage. National Coney Island even showed up later with the late night snack. I don't think it gets any more Detroit than that! Try holding back the tears when the bride dances with her Dad while the song playing is her Dad singing the song he wrote for her as a little girl! A nice little surprise in the evening, a game ball and plate from the Tigers game that night! Vendors

Meet Katrina and Garret! I can't wait to be a part of their big day! I am especially excited that they are having their ceremony at the Matthei Botanical Gardens in Ann Arbor (that is where I married my hubby!). Their reception will take place at Weber's in Ann Arbor. Check out their gorgeous engagement photos by K Holly. Watch for their wedding photos soon! By Melissa
I have been busy finalizing all of the details for Tricia and Jeremy's wedding that will take place later this month. So I figured I would share their lovely fall engagement shoot. On a rainy, cold day like today this makes me miss the sunshine and fall weather. I am so excited to be a part of Tricia and Jeremy's wedding at the Frankenmuth Brewery. Watch for their wedding blog! Also, be sure to check out Derek Cookson Photography! By Melissa Meet Samm and Gabe! They are an adorable couple with the sweetest family! When I first met with Samm and her mom, she told me what she had planned so far for her wedding and that she shared a love for Harry Potter with her fiance, Gabe. She wanted to tie in elements from Harry Potter but still make it an elegant, fall wedding. Of course, I was super excited for this! Samm made gorgeous bouquets and boutonnieres herself. Look at these flowers made from pages from Harry Potter books! The girls got to show their own style by picking out their own dresses. The ceremony took place at Indian Springs Metropark, overlooking a pond. It was it a little chilly for early October but the sun was shining! Gabe surprised Samm during the ceremony with a sweet song that he sang and played on his guitar. Following the ceremony was cocktail hour and the reception inside the Environmental Discovery Center. It is such a beautiful venue with all of the wood and large windows. Tables were divided by the houses of Hogwarts by the colors, house name, and emblem. The bride's father made these beautiful love potions from Harry Potter for each table. The head table was numbered 9 ¾ from the Platform 9 ¾ that students of Hogwarts use to take the scarlet steam engine, Hogwarts Express to Hogwarts on September 1st at 11am sharp at King’s Cross Station, a main train station in London. To get to Platform 9 3/4, you run straight at the wall between platforms 9 and 10. The candy station that we set up was inspired by Honeydukes Sweet Shop. There is this really neat underwater viewing area of the pond in the discovery center. Unfortunately, it was covered in slime! But fortunately, it made for some really cool pictures! The reception was a great time! So many talented family members played their instruments and sang. The photobooth had Harry Potter props such as glasses, brooms, and witch hats. Cupcakes were for dessert and the late night snack featured donuts and hot cider. See the full gallery. Vendors
Wedding Planner: Melissa Marie Events Photography: Flourish Photography Venue: Indian Springs Metropark DJ: Tronix Entertainment Cupcakes: Cupcake Station Photobooth: Shutterbooth Violinist: Shawn Boucke By Melissa Meet Kay and Brett! It is brides like Kay that make me LOVE my job even more! Brett is not too bad ;) But I did not spend the last year with him wedding planning. Enjoy all of these beautiful images by the talented Miranda of Inner Circle Photography. Can you believe the back of Kay's dress? Stunning! Their ceremony and reception took place at the Colony Club in Detroit. I LOVE that Kay decided to have her mother and father walk her down the aisle. And they are married! What I love so much about this wedding is that every single detail was paid attention to. Kay folded so many origami flowers, cranes, and more by hand with paper from Japan! Each place card was held by an origami crane. The boutonnieres were all made of origami flowers. Each place setting had a small box with different origami shapes such as cranes, cars, flowers, hearts, Inside each beautiful box was two lovely cookies by Sweet Heather Anne. Kay had a special surprise for Brett. A cake that was a replica of his classic car! Can you believe the detail of this cake?!?! The best part, it was rotating!!! I know it had to be painful to cut this cake! See the full gallery here. Vendors
Wedding Planner: All About You Productions Photographer: Inner Circle Photography Bakery: Sweet Heather Anne Venue: Colony Club Florist: The Petal Lady DJ: Pro DJ String Quartet: Rhondo By Melissa Hello everyone I am a little behind on blogging 2014 weddings, but things have been busy around here! So I figured I would start with the first wedding of the year, back in March. Shannon and Ryan met with me because they were having a hard time planning their wedding and wanted to scale it back. We know how things can get out of hand very quickly when planning a wedding! After a lot of discussion Shannon and Ryan decided that they wanted to do a very small, intimate wedding with their closest family and friends. They wanted it to be really soon! And they wanted it to be a surprise! Maggiano's was the perfect venue for an intimate wedding it's warm ambiance and yummy Italian food. To get all of the guests to the wedding without knowing they were going to a wedding, I sent out Engagement party invitations to their closest family. After everyone arrived and mingled for a bit, Shannon and Ryan broke the news- they were getting married right now! The guests were so surprised and very excited! Then they exchanged vows right there in front of everyone that is closest to them. Everything turned out beautiful and they were happily married! Vendors
