I was beyond excited when Chicago couple, Alexa and Dax contacted me about their wedding at the Detroit Institute of Arts! One of the things I love so much about being a wedding planner is all of the different venues in the Detroit area. More unique venues keep popping up, the possibilities are endless!
Alexa and Dax had a small, sweet ceremony in the beautiful Great Hall. Followed by their reception in the Rivera Court.
The DIA served a delicious dinner and the couple cut a small cake. Then a huge variety of yummy donuts were brought out by the Detroit Donut Bar! Guests were able to stroll around the museum a bit and look at the amazing art work. The couple and their guests danced the night away. It was a stunning wedding!
This was our first and sadly our last wedding in the atrium at the Westin in Southfield. It is such a beautiful venue, but unfortunately they will not be doing weddings there any more. I am glad we had the chance to work there and to be a part of Jake and Annie's big day!
The flowers were stunning!
I would have to say that this is my favorite guest book alternative! Guests signed a small wooden heart and dropped it in the mitten.
It was chilly outside, but you wouldn't know it in the atrium.
I would say it was a perfect wedding!
This is a DIY wedding done right! We have all seen our fair share of Pinterest fails. But I have seen so many done right. Zoe and Keith had a beautiful Ann Arbor summer wedding. While living in Chicago, Zoe and Keith did the wedding planning with the help of their families. They are a creative bunch and it shows.
I love the elegant simplicity of this wedding. The centerpieces were succulents in pots on wood slabs. The Michigan cookies and all of the delicious cakes were hand-made by the Zoe's mom, Lauren. Mason jars had the guests names with table numbers on them.
Could these colors be any more perfect for a summer wedding?
Angelica and Scott had the perfect fall wedding! It rained a ton on the rehearsal night and the forecast called for rain the next day. Fortunately for us, the rain held off and they got married outside in front of the barn at Scott's parents' house.
Angelica wore a custom wedding gown made by Amity Rice of Marbella Couture. She was stunning!
The flowers were incredible. Every detail was thought of.
The couple and their guests partied hard all night! They were a really fun bunch! Congrats to Angelica and Scott!

Becca and her mom were so great to work with! I loved their ideas and they were so kind. I was super excited when they hired me for my first Cornman Farms wedding! It is such an awesome venue and I am really looking forward to working there a lot this wedding season.
It's time to get ready. I love the Father of the Bride's expression when he saw her all finished!
Each groomsmen had a different fun tie!
First looks never get old for me.
And they are married in front of their family and friends!
Following the ceremony, cocktail hour took place outside and around the lower floor of the barn. Dinner was served in the big tent. Beautiful cobalt blue vases, made by the Father of the Bride were on the tables with hydrangeas and sunflowers. Each place setting had a cork for guests to put in the jar of their choosing to go to that charity. In place of a favor the couple made a donation based on the organization their guests chose. So sweet!
After dinner and cake, their guests made a sparkler exit and everyone headed up stairs in the beautiful barn for dancing and fun!
Thank you Becca and Matthew for choosing me to be your Coordinator! I wish you the best!
Karen and Audrey are such a genuine, caring couple. I got a little teary-eyed the first time I met them. They have been together for sooo long and have an awesome son! They finally got to tie the knot in July and their wedding was beautiful!
The ceremony was planned to be outside but the rain was coming down hard with no end in sight. So we brough it inside the barn at Cobblestone Farm. Luckily Karen and Audrey had some burlap and we had extra flowers to create a ceremony space. It was a little tight, but we made it work. Luckily they were able to get some outdoor pictures at one point.
Karen and Audrey's son Tyler and their niece sang a beautiful song at the ceremony.
Karen and Audrey were so creative with all of their signs and decor. I love of all of the details......
At one point the power went out during the reception. Karen and Audrey were such good sports about every hiccup we overcame. Katie and Krista did a fantastic job coordinating this wedding!
This is one of our weddings from our triple wedding day in July! Caitlin and I were a part of this super fun wedding. Lauren and Tyler are such a lovely couple! Their ceremony was at the Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak.
I love the alternative to a first look that Lauren and Tyler did!
Lauren and Tyler had their reception at the Rust Belt Market in Ferndale. It is such a cool venue! On the weekends the Rust Belt Market is a market place filled with little shops filled with art, vintage items, and tons of hand-made Michigan stuff. Guests walked around checking out the shops during cocktail hour. After the shops closed down, the reception began.
Maria and Derek are such a fun, sweet couple! I loved being a part of their wedding at the Madison building downtown.
Maria and Derek said their vows on the 5th floor. I love the urban feel of the space!
Following the ceremony, the reception took place on the roof top. The weather was perfect, the band was great, and the food was yummy!
It was a great view of the Tigers game.
The perfect ending to a perfect wedding.... Fireworks!

Michelle and Ryan are the sweetest! I love the way they look at each other! Nothing could've bothered them on this day.
You might remember a post I made back in August about a bucket list wedding. This is it, Kirk in the Hills! The first time my mom brought me there to see, I fell in love with it! It is so beautiful! So this wedding was really special to me. I couldn't hide my excitement the first time I talked to Michelle on the phone when she told me where she was getting married. I love that Eugen from Sublime Moments brought along a drone to photograph this amazing view!
Check out their first look inside Kirk in the Hills.....
The reception took place at the Royal Park Hotel. It was intimate and beautiful.
Michelle and Ryan did not choose to have a bridal party, which I thought was great and special. They did have an awesome flower girl though! And she took the spotlight more than once with her moves!

I am way behind on posting this but it is too beautiful to not share! Katie and Adam's wedding was one of the most detail oriented wedding I have ever done. I LOVE every bit of it! Can you imagine getting married under this beauty??? Donna and Larry's Flower shop created this!
Check out all of these details! I love that the whole property is yours at the Lazy J Ranch. The ceremony took place outside facing a field. Cocktail hour was in the older barn and outside. Guests could enjoy a game of bean bags or cozy up with a blanket.
Dinner and dessert was in the newer barn.
Everyone danced the night away in the old barn, enjoyed cider and donuts, and sent Katie and Adam with a sparkler exit!
