By Melissa Meet high school sweet hearts, Heather and Elijah! They are as sweet as they look :) They had their ceremony and reception at the beautiful Cornman Farms. It was a perfect July day! Their flower people were adorable! They got married in front of the farmhouse. Elijah's father officiated the ceremony. It could not have been more perfect. Of course the baby goats made an appearance. I hear that lambs have been added this year. I love the favors! They were lip balm from the Little Flower Shop Co. Holly from Sweet Pea Floral did an amazing job on all of the flowers! There was a surprise song from a couple of friends that felt "left out" from the bridal party. It was hilarious and so entertaining! They picked a beautiful spot for their first dance. Everyone danced the night away in the upper level of the barn. Their late night snack was a s'mores bar. I have never seen a s'mores bar with so many delicious options. Their graham crackers were homemade! Jenna still talks about those ;) See the full gallery here.

By Melissa Meet Kelly and Jim. They had a beautiful September wedding! They chose a beautiful venue for their ceremony and reception! The Detroit Opera House is stunning inside and the rooftop could not more fun! The rain stayed away and they had a perfect ceremony on the roof top. Everything was very chic with black and white, with gold accents. The cupcake station was so cute and so yummy! We finished off the night with a popcorn bar. Thank you Kelly and Jim for choosing us to coordinate your wedding! See the full gallery here.

We searched all over Michigan and ended up finding the perfect venue right here in Grosse Pointe Farms. Paul and Amanda met in Australia and now live in London. They love to travel and go all over the place! We tied a travel theme into their elegant wedding. Each table was named a different place that Amanda and Paul have traveled to together and included a few photos of them there. Guests found their seats on a departure board and each place setting had a leather luggage tag with their name on it. See the full gallery here.
Vendors Wedding Planner: Melissa Marie Events Photographer: Flourish Photography Venue: Grosse Pointe War Memorial DJ: LuFru Cake: Double Stuffed Bakery By Melissa Meet Chelsea and Alex! This is probably the most eventful wedding I have ever been a part of! With a total of 20 vendors involved, Jenna and I were busy! Chelsea and Alex decided to get married at a family friend's house in Bloomfield Hills. It is on a lake and when the Father of the Bride is the owner of English Gardens, the yard is beautiful! The perfect setting for a wedding. Chelsea and her girls got ready right at the house and never had to leave. English Gardens did an amazing job on all of the flowers! Everything was gorgeous! As guests arrived they enjoyed cocktail hour before the ceremony. After the ceremony guests could go to any or all of the food trucks that they wanted to. They were all delicious (I know because we tried them)! Toasts and dancing began a little later. The guests enjoyed cake and a Cool Jacks cart came with made to order ice cream cookie sandwiches. Every outdoor wedding should have these! It saves your drink from bugs and from anyone clearing it away! The guests all seemed to have a great time! The night was not complete without Rolling Stone Pizza cooking pizzas for a late night snack. As everyone headed home they were given a goody bag full of Michigan favorites. Congratulations to Chelsea and Alex!

They are such a fun, down to earth couple which made the year of planning their wedding a breeze. Anne and George wanted to get married at Anne's family farm house in Ann Arbor. These 2 are my favorite photos! Can't forget their sweet, furry attendant. He was so cute and laid right at their feet during the ceremony! The weather was perfect (although too windy for wedding planners trying to set up!). The mother of the bride made all of the homemade maple syrup favors. One of my favorite details, the Family Tree. Wedding Planner and Floral: Melissa Marie Events Photography: Heather Lynn Photography Venue: Private Residence DJ: LuFru Rentals: You're Event Party Rental By Melissa I was beyond excited when Chicago couple, Alexa and Dax contacted me about their wedding at the Detroit Institute of Arts! One of the things I love so much about being a wedding planner is all of the different venues in the Detroit area. More unique venues keep popping up, the possibilities are endless! Alexa and Dax had a small, sweet ceremony in the beautiful Great Hall. Followed by their reception in the Rivera Court. The DIA served a delicious dinner and the couple cut a small cake. Then a huge variety of yummy donuts were brought out by the Detroit Donut Bar! Guests were able to stroll around the museum a bit and look at the amazing art work. The couple and their guests danced the night away. It was a stunning wedding! You can view the full gallery here.

It is such a beautiful venue, but unfortunately they will not be doing weddings there any more. I am glad we had the chance to work there and to be a part of Jake and Annie's big day! The flowers were stunning! I would have to say that this is my favorite guest book alternative! Guests signed a small wooden heart and dropped it in the mitten. It was chilly outside, but you wouldn't know it in the atrium. I would say it was a perfect wedding! See the full gallery here.

We have all seen our fair share of Pinterest fails. But I have seen so many done right. Zoe and Keith had a beautiful Ann Arbor summer wedding. While living in Chicago, Zoe and Keith did the wedding planning with the help of their families. They are a creative bunch and it shows. I love the elegant simplicity of this wedding. The centerpieces were succulents in pots on wood slabs. The Michigan cookies and all of the delicious cakes were hand-made by the Zoe's mom, Lauren. Mason jars had the guests names with table numbers on them. Could these colors be any more perfect for a summer wedding? See the full gallery here. It rained a ton on the rehearsal night and the forecast called for rain the next day. Fortunately for us, the rain held off and they got married outside in front of the barn at Scott's parents' house. Angelica wore a custom wedding gown made by Amity Rice of Marbella Couture. She was stunning! The flowers were incredible. Every detail was thought of. The couple and their guests partied hard all night! They were a really fun bunch! Congrats to Angelica and Scott! Vendors Photography: Daniel Lennon Day of Coordination: Melissa Marie Events Dress: Marbella Couture Hair: Ashleigh Jones Florist: Missie Everard-Welsch By Melissa Becca and her mom were so great to work with! I loved their ideas and they were so kind. I was super excited when they hired me for my first Cornman Farms wedding! It is such an awesome venue and I am really looking forward to working there a lot this wedding season. It's time to get ready. I love the Father of the Bride's expression when he saw her all finished! Each groomsmen had a different fun tie! First looks never get old for me. And they are married in front of their family and friends! Following the ceremony, cocktail hour took place outside and around the lower floor of the barn. Dinner was served in the big tent. Beautiful cobalt blue vases, made by the Father of the Bride were on the tables with hydrangeas and sunflowers. Each place setting had a cork for guests to put in the jar of their choosing to go to that charity. In place of a favor the couple made a donation based on the organization their guests chose. So sweet! After dinner and cake, their guests made a sparkler exit and everyone headed up stairs in the beautiful barn for dancing and fun! Thank you Becca and Matthew for choosing me to be your Coordinator! I wish you the best! You can see the full gallery here.
